On The Road
travelin' north, where
the leaves color the woods
it is that time of year. autumn
has arrived.
along the road, shades of reds,
yellows and oranges...none the same,
leave their color stamp which is permanent
and one we will never forget.
nature has waved her paintbrush,
leaving a portrait of lasting beauty,
giving our eyes a color show
before wintertime arrives.
the colorful calico carpet beneath our
feet as we walk, is nature's way
of reminding us that this divine beauty comes
and goes, with every autumn season, every year.
